What would you like your character's tag to be?: hyun-ae kim
Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present): Once upon a time, Hyun-ae was a normal high school girl. She and her family were aboard a generation ship, setting out for a new colony outside Earth. Unfortunately, Hyun-ae was very ill, and in a last desperate attempt to save her, her father had her frozen and stored away until such time technology could cure her.
That bright future never came for her. Almost 2000 years later, a descendent cracked her capsule open with a hammer, and brought her as a marriage tribute to a society that no longer resembles the modern society that she left, but more like the Joseon Era of ancient Korea. It was a desperate play to save the standing of the Kim family in the eyes of the Ryu Imperial family, and summarily she was to marry the Emperor as his second wife, since his first could not deliver him a child. She was known only as the Pale Bride, a misreading of the characters inscribed on her capsule, which really read “sick daughter”.
Hyun-ae was not having it. She fought as much as she could, even if she couldn’t read the Chinese-influenced characters this society used. She was only 15! She shouldn’t have to get married! Finally, one day, she thought she had won. They were going to see it her way!
The next time she saw her “parents” they were coming to cut her tongue out.
After that, she was defeated, body and soul. She was married to the Emperor. She did come to enjoy sex with her husband, and spending time with Jae-hwa Ryu, the Emperor’s other wife.
One day, Jae-hwa died. Hyun-ae was unable to communicate her grief, and out of an inability to understand her, the Emperor sent his emotional wife back home to her “parents”. A few comments about how “obedient” she had become in contrast to how she had been, and she had enough.
She was going to kill them all.
She broke into the ship’s override controls, locked everyone else out, uploaded her memories and personality into a copy of *Mute, the security AI’s program, deactivated life support, and vented the environment.
Everyone on the Mugunghwa suffocated in a matter of minutes.
*Hyun-ae, *Mute, and the Mugunghwa drifted in space for over 600 years, until it was found and investigated by a contracted investigator sent to download its log files to determine the cause of its loss. In the end, the derelict was abandoned, and the investigator was only too happy to download their new AI girlfriend(s) and bring them back to Earth.
On the trip back to Earth, *Hyun-ae was promised a new body by the investigator, and found log files stored away in her code. They’d been secured there by Old *Mute, the previous iteration of the security AI, in a desperate effort to save the records that lead to the collapse of one society, the wipe of all ship’s records, and institution of the New Dynasty.
Character's personality: Hyun-ae is a cheerful, optimistic girl, even in the face of all the horrible things she has had to deal with and the extreme loneliness of her fate. She is eager to meet and get to know people, and she might fall in love a bit too fast. She has never seen Earth, and she loves to hear people talk about it.
She is fond of dramas and cosplay, especially stories with detectives, maids, and lady scientists. She absolutely dislikes traditional clothing, but she does create a Lunar New Year hanbok. However, she does use more modern motifs for it than traditional colors and imagery.
Character's skills/abilities/powers: As an AI, she has no corporeal form. She can move through computer systems easily, brute force decrypt, and be a go-between for users and systems. Aside from that, she is pretty handy with computers, and she would love to be an engineer one day.
Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.: She has some log files from the Mugunghwa prior to the institution of the Joseon era laws embedded in her code, but she is not going to be bringing any physical artifacts with her.

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? I intend to bring her to play with the humanity question that TNG is so fond of. I would also like her to get a body of some kind.
